Installation Types

Standard Installation

image1

A "standard installation" is when the meter is located above ground and near a structure. The Safe-T-Valve actuator can be braced directly on the structure and the brass tee can replace a 90 degree elbow. These typically require no additional materials,

Curb Meter with Riser

The gas meter can be located in a curb vault below ground. In this case, the gas main must be traced to where it enters the structure. The gas main may rise above ground and penetrate the wall to enter the structure. In this case, replace the 90 degree elbow on the riser with the Safe-T-Valve tee and mount the actuator to the structure.

Field Set

The gas meter may be located away from the structure and cannot be braced directly to the structure. Two metal posts can be installed to allow for proper bracing of the actuator.

Multi Meter Manifold

Multiple meters may be located in the same area next to a structure. Brace the Safe-T-Valve actuator to the structure and replace the existing tee with the Safe-T-Valve brass tee. It is recommended to label each Safe-T-Valve to the meter it is servicing.

Under Set

The meter may be located under the structure in a cabinet or crawl space. This allows for little room to work but is perfect for the Safe-T-Valve.
